Robotics Summit and Expo was a Success!

Our own Black in Robotics members had a mini-meetup at the Robotics Summit and Expo.

Andre Cleaver had this to say about the summit and expo:

I ran into old colleges and had the opportunity to catch up with them. I had the pleasure of meeting with other members of BiR, and we discussed about our research and goals. I got to see several cool robot demos including the famous Boston Dynamics Spot robot that I also got to control! I had the opportunity to meet people from diverse backgrounds and build my professional network. I met with several companies and had a chance to talk to them about my research and show demos of my latest work. I attended several talks and learned about the direction of robotics in areas such as healthcare. One talk that caught my attention was visualizing surgical instruments within the body using Augmented Reality (AR) During medical procedures, surgeons can leverage this technology to reach target areas with accuracy within the body. (I use AR in my research and it blows my mind to see how else AR can be used 😁) Overall, the conference was a success, and I hope to attend more future related events!
